Dining Around The World

Romance Around Every Corner

If it is romantic dining you are looking for then your search is over.   Epcot offers some of the best, most intimate and truly romantic dining anywhere in the world.  There are quiet, sophisticated restaurants and raucous feasts.  You choose which best fits your dining desires.

And beyond sit-down dining there are many little culinary delights strewn throughout the park.  We'll discuss them all here.  Just choose your country or area and we'll try to serve up some romantic ideas.

Canada

Le Cellier

Hidden in the back of the Canada pavilion, behind a beautifully manicured lawn and Victorian garden, lies the entrance to Le Cellier Restaurant. Inside the restaurant you will feel as if you have descended in to a well-kept wine cellar. Dark metal grating at the entrance and greeter station gives way to a more opulent dining room finished in wooden timbers and candle-lit tables. The room seems smaller and more intimate than it actually is. This is due to subdued lighting and the darker tones used in the décor. All in all the setting is perfect for a romantic evening.

On the menu you will find a wide selection of beef dishes, most served with potatoes gratin – a cheesy potato casserole side dish. Also on the menu are seasonal game dishes including a buffalo rib eye steak that is absolutely wonderful. For those who prefer fish there is salmon and Canadian lobster, too. The wine list is acceptable and boasts a nice variety of wines to compliment your entrée. For dessert, the chocolate mousse cake is a sure bet for any chocolate lover.

After dinner a stroll through the garden or past the waterfall in the rocky gorge behind it is a wonderful way to finish off the evening.

Mexico

The San Angel Inn

Imagine yourself walking through a bustling street market south of the border.  Goods are piled on top of baskets as you stroll under a beautiful, star-lit night sky.  At the end of the street you see a smoking volcano beyond a Mayan pyramid.   Between you and the pyramid flows a dark river on which occasional boats float by.

You walk to the end of the street and are surprised to find a court-yard filled with tables along the banks of the river.  This is The San Angel Inn, one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in all of Epcot.

When you are seated at your table you can gaze out over the river as your lover glows in the candle light.  The ambiance is so thick here one can feel it.   The chairs are colorful and ornate, the glassware thick and heavy and the food plentiful and wonderful.

When making your priority seating arrangements be sure to ask if you can have a table on the railing separating the dining room from the river.
